Membership is open to Investigators from any state,
although they must be otherwise qualified to join the LPIA.
Prospective Members must be a licensed investigator if they reside
in a state that requires a license to perform private
investigation work. If your state does not require a
license, then you must submit a copy of a business/occupational
license to indicate that you are a legitimate agency.

We will process your application as
soon as possible, but in all cases within a month.
Your start date will be the date that you are entered onto the
Member's Directory on the website and will continue for 12 months
from that date.
In the event applicant is not
approved for Active Membership, the Annual dues will be refunded
minus $15.00 for processing fees.

Frequently
Asked Questions
If
join now, when will I owe dues again?
We have adopted
a billing cycle where your membership is for 12 months
from the date you join. Our new billing program
will invoice you approximately 30 days before your
membership expiration date.
If I don't renew my
dues, how long will my listing remain on the Member's
Directory?
Our database
will automatically remove your listing from the public
view on the date of your membership expiration.
Do you accept Credit
Cards for Membership Payments?
We are now able
to accept credit cards through PayPal and will accept
your payment for dues provided you pay a $2.50
convenience fee.
I
live in a state that does not require a license?
Can I join the LPIA?
YES, provided that you have established
yourself as a legitimate private investigator. A
business license to operate shows us that you've taken
the steps to do that.
I've
applied for my license, but I haven't received it yet.
Can I still join the LPIA?
We will accept your membership pending
your approval as a licensed investigator, however your
listing will not appear in the database until you have
been issued a license. You must notify the
Membership Administrator when you have been licensed
so that we can verify that and initiate your
membership.
